One blustery afternoon, Mr Chong went to the hawker centre for lunch. Mr Chong decided to buy his favourite chicken rice and started to consume it. Suddenly, he saw a young man smoking and drinking beer. Mr Chong was very irritated and went over to the young man.

Mr Chong pointed his forefinger at the young man and then the signboard which says 'No smoking'. Mr Chong yelled "Hey, you, you are not supposed to smoke here!!!" In a fit of anger, the young man took the empty beer bottle and started to smash at Mr Chong. Mr Chong, took a stool as a shield. The beer bottle made quite a commotion. All the patrons took to their heels and ran away.

A policeman was patrolling at the neighbourhood and saw the commotion and hurried to the scene. The young man tried to smash a beer bottle at the policeman. Without wasting a second, the policeman dodged the hit. The policeman took the opportunity to arrest the young man. The policeman brought the young man to the police station and the ambulance came to bring Mr Chong to the hospital. After 2 weeks, Mr Chong was discharged from the hospital and the young man was sentenced to jail for 1 year and 6 strokes of the cane.
