Why was Elizabeth Choy famous

Elizabeth Choy was famous as she was a war hero during the japanese occupation and also the only memver of the Legislative Council in 1951.She was also famous as she is posed as an artist model for the famed sculptress,Dora Gordine and also when she first became a teacher,soon later,she became the principal of the Singapore School for the blind.
