An accident on a rainy day

Thoughts filled my mind as i looked hopelessly at the oncoming Mercedes that was heading my way."Am l going to die?What is happening?"Wild thoughts flashed in my mind as the car approached nearer with every second that past.The last thing l knew,brakes were screeching and the horns were blaring...

It was like any other day when the school bell rang.I hurriedly packed my bag,anxious to get home to watch my favourite show which was about to start.As l walked out of school,dark clouds gathered and flashes of lightning filled the sky.Suddenly,torrents of rain poured down.I broke into a run,regretting the decision not to bring an umbrella.Minutes later,l slowed down to a walk to catch my breath.By then,l was already drenched.As l had to cross the road,l could not wait for the green man to flash.I dashed across as quickly as my legs could carry me when all of a sudden,a Mercedes appeared before me.Shocked,l stood rooted to the ground.There was a screeching of brakes and a blaring of horn as the car turned in a way,attempting to avoid me.The next second l knew,l was lying on the ground,crimson red blood oozing from my head as l slowly lost conscious.

When l woke up,l saw my parents,looking concerned but relieved.My parents told me that it was a miracle l had pulled through though l had twenty-two stiches on my forehead which would hurt whenever l move and a few broken bones on my legs and arms.Wondering how l had gotten to the hospital,l asked my father.He explained that the driver of the Mercedes had brought me to the hospital.

Finally,l remembered the accident!I promised my parents l would not go to school without an umbrella and not to dash across the road when the green man had not appeared.
